The International Home Entertainment Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) is the liaison for a portfolio of operating territories.  The SFA is expected to have in-depth business knowledge of the designated territories, present the current state and outlook of the business, and advise fmance management of risks and issues.  The SFA partners with finance management  in the territories to:
1) ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP;
2) ensure complete, accurate budgets and forecasts;
3) continuously enhance process efficiency;
4) provide feedback and guidance to the territories;
5) lead special projects and ad hoc activities.

Key Responsibilities

  •     Review and analyze territory and consolidated financial results including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, AR Aging, Return Reserve, Bad Debts Reserve, Inventory Reserve, and Sales Incentive Programs in accordance with US GAAP.  At the conclusion ofthe analysis, the SFA should be able to render opinion on reasonableness and address issues (if any).
  •     Review and analyze territory budgets I forecasts I mid-range plan for reasonableness, potential risks and opportunities.
  •     Analyze revenue & profit by title (Actual vs. Budget, Forecast, Flash, and prior periods) and present the reasons for the variances.
  •     Review territory statutory ledger for differences between US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  •     Perform Home Office Monitoring Controls in compliance with SOX requirements.
  •     Prepare monthly flash submissions to Corporate and Profit Owners.
  •     Lead special projects/ad hoc finance activities, make recommendations to IHE Finance
  • Team on process improvements, and drive standardization/consistency in financial reporting and planning processes.
  •     Coordinate with territories, Profit Owners, SAP team, to ensure profit of each title is allocated to the appropriate Owner Profit Center within SPE.
  •     Respond to various requests for information from other areas of the Company, including
  • Corporate, Home Entertainment  Management, Marketing, and Participations.
  •     Liaise with various IT teams in designing IHE Business Warehouse reports, testing prior to production, and resolving questions/issues on Essbase data.

SPHE International Finance Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities

50% Review, analyze, and report actual financial results
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for the month-end close process for assigned territories and certain consolidating functions.  This process involves the following:

  • 25% Analyze territories' financial data The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for timely review of the territories'  financial results including P&L by title, overhead expense, balance sheets, and supplemental documentation (i.e., analysis of reserves, VAT, accounts receivables, S Accounts etc.); and any necessary follow up with the territories to resolve questions or errors.
  • 25%  Analyze and report consolidated financial results As part of the close process, the Sr. Financial Analyst analyzes consolidated SPE, TV, WAG and IHE revenue and gross profit, by title, compared against budget, forecast, and flash. The Sr. Financial Analyst also ensures that profit for each title is correctly allocated to the appropriate division within the Company. In addition to title analysis, the Sr. Financial Analyst prepares consolidated Actual P&L and Flash submissions and compiles and analyzes consolidated return reserve analysis.

35% Review and analyze budget and forecast packages
For an assigned group of territories (UK, Ireland, Central Europe), the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely recipt of budget and forecast packages from the territories, resolving issues related to title and overhead, following up with territories regarding questions or inconsistencies, consolidating packages, and ensuring timely submission of a consolidated budget. The Sr. Financial Analyst reviews the budgets for resonableness in terms of profit targets, timing, gross profits, etc. The Sr. Financial Analyst must be sufficiently knowledgeable about the SPHE business and general accounting and financial principles in order to interpret the financial data and identify potential risk, if any. The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for this process each quarter, as well as the same processes related to the annual budget and mid-range plan.

15% Participate in continuous process improvement, ad hoc finance activities and special projects
The Sr. Financial Analyst coordinates with other IHE Financial Analysts to drive P&L and Balance Sheet account consistency across the international territories. The Sr. Financial Analyst works with IT's SAP team to resolve system issues (such as RCA, MPM, and SKU and OPC problems) or create new reports within Business Warehouse on SAP.
